The transcript of the message delivered at the 11:30 outdoor Mass on Sunday February 21, 2021 (video is on this page).
My name is Isrrael Lopez Silva. First of all I would like to thank the church for letting me share my experience with everyone.
This past June, I suffered a stroke which was very unexpected and terrifying. When I was at the hospital my doctor said to my wife that there was a big chance I would lose my sight , speech and movement because of the severity of my state. I know that God was there at my side helping me. For the first couple of weeks, I didn't even know my wife. I couldn't speak correctly or move on my own. All the things they said I might lose became a big possibility for me to stay in the state Iwas in, which is why I know God is real and he was with me every step of the way because even after all this I am here on my own two feet telling this to all of you,
Unfortunately during my recovery, I had a second surgery which put me back to square one. My recovery was more difficult, slow and more painful but I never lost my faith in God, Four months later I saw my first surgeon. The first thing he said to me was that he could not believe what he was seeing and that It was a miracle from God. From then on, I have been getting better, though sometimes it seems slow, I am on my way to fully recovering. I am not yet there but I will keep working hard with God at my side.
I would like to thank Divine Savior for helping me by using funds from the Annual Catholic Appeal to rent me a hospital bed for my recovery. It was a big help and made it easier. Once again I would like to say thank you to everyone and thank you Father Roman for letting me speak.
