Reflections on the Fourth Week of Advent

The Gospel passage for today makes clear the serious decision St. Joseph made when he realized that Mary was pregnant.  The gospel does not describe how Joseph felt about the situation, only that he initially did not want anything to do with Mary given her circumstances.  Regardless of how he felt, he was very attentive to what his inner being, (his intuition Holy Spirit) expressed to him through an angel in a dream.  We pray that we continue to develop our attentiveness to our inner resources (Holy Spirit) so that we will be able to cooperate ever more fully with God’s plan to make Jesus known in our world.
