Music serves an essential part of our common worship; it is not something we do as part of the liturgy, it is a primary ingredient in the recipe, like yeast is to bread. People of all ages may participate in music ministry in different ways. Some play the organ, piano or guitar, some accompany on a wind or persussion instrument, some sing in the choir, some lead the congregation as cantor or psalmist. ALL music ministers have the goal of engaging the assembly in musical worship.
Please email Gerry for current rehearsal times.
Cantor & Psalmist ~ the ministry of the cantor and psalmist is open to those who can effectively lead and encourage congregational singing. Cantors come from within the choirs; please see the music director for more information about becoming a cantor.
All ages and skill levels are welcome.
If you play an instrument or sing and would like to participate in parish Music Ministry, please get in touch with us by completing the inquiry form on this page.
Music and Mission videos are quick 25-minute mini-retreats hosted by well-known composers of some of the music we enjoy singing at Masses at Divine Savior. Check them out -
