I have been a Divine Savior parishioner since 2009, and I held the position as Director of Music from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 through August 2016, I was Director of Liturgy. Since then I have been in the position of Pastoral Care Minister. Some of the groups that fall under my umbrella of influence are Social Concerns Ministries (such as Community Meal, Christmas Basket Ministry, Fair Trade Coffee/Chocolate, S.A.V.E. Anti-Trafficking Ministry, and Creation Care Team. I oversee the Ministry to the Homebound, Bereavement support, and various new ministries that are developing. Part of my time is also invested in helping parishioners connect to parish ministries to offer their gifts or to receive the support they need. I am also the staff liaison for Our Lady of Guadalupe Society, Filipino/a Group, and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
I grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and attended Catholic schools K-12. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry in 1991 from the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University in Minnesota. After graduating I ventured out west to accept a position as Pastoral Associate at Holy Family Parish in Deming, NM. In 1993, I moved to southern California to work as the Liturgy Coordinator at St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Riverside. After my first three children were born, my family moved to northern California. I took a break from full-time ministry to be a stay-at-home-mom, and two more children followed. In 2008, my five children and I moved to Folsom. I have a special place in my heart for families with special needs.
I feel blessed to be at Divine Savior, where a supportive and loving staff and congregation feed my spirit daily. It is a real blessing to be a part of this parish during a time of spiritual growth and a season of dedicated leadership by its pastor. I believe that as long as I keep on trusting in God’s will and not my own, I will be guided to the right paths, both in my personal life and in church ministry.
Favorite prayer: “God, make your will stupidly obvious to me, and put the right people in my path to help me recognize it, embrace it, and follow it.”
